Current Monk Setup

Postby bknight » Wed Mar 05, 2014 3:31 am

Hey, what are you going currently with your monk?

At the moment I'm going with,

Mantra Of Conviction -> Intimidation
Serenity -> Ascension
Way of Hundred Fists -> rune with the increase attacks
Wall of Light -> stun rune
Exploding Palm -> last rune, the one with fire dmg that jumps around
Sweeping Wind -> lightning cyclones :D.

I sometimes change the rune in the exploding palm between single / multitarget, but from the above, that one seems really the most overpowered skill at the moment, at least in terms of farming, it deals such an insane amount of dmg per target..

Your build looks pretty cool! I am not a fan of exploding palm as much, I couldn't tell you why, but the rest of your build looks super fun, might have to try it out. My build is;

Crippling Wave - Rising Tide
Cyclone Strike - Sunburst
Serenity - Tranquility
Breath of Heaven - Circle of Life
Sweeping Wind - Cyclone
Mantra of Healing - Sustenance (which I commonly switch out for Mantra of Retribution during solo play)

Those are mainly the skills I use when running with friends so I can maintain our life while throwing out decent damage. My passives change a lot (haven't found a set I really like) right now so not positive on which ones I have on my monk at the moment - usually stick with passives that allow more spirit regeneration so I can spam cyclone strike more effectively.

I don't remember all of my skills ATM, but I know that one of mine that's different from yours is that I use mystic ally (air). I couldn't imagine fighting without it; I love how the ally will draw enemies away from you.

I got rid of breath of heaven, since I found I wasn't using it once I had all legendary equipment, plus socketed gems that added life.

I also love epiphany. I wasn't sure how I'd care for it, but it's definitely my major skill. Al of my extra paragon points go towards lowering the cooldown for that, so I can use it more often.
